I was on vacation at my brothers house and offered to iron his shirts for work for him. My nephew noticed how quickly I ironed the shirts and thought college kids like himself might like seeing a good way to iron shirts. We decided to share this for the benefit of all. Why do US troops wear scruffy clothes in public?
This has always puzzled me, as whenever I am in Europe Soldiers look immaculate in polished boots and fresh pressed uniforms but US troops wear baggy non pressed uniforms non polished boots. Do US troops normally dress like this everywhere? What’s the reason for it? I was a British soldier and no one would dare go out into civilian streets dressed like a US soldier dressed in a baggy boiler suit with dirty boots. We would have to go out dressed as though we were to go on parade. Is the US less strict about military discipline and personal military uniform pride.
Seriously I f I were in the US military I would never wear that uniform in public, I would wear my best sunday parade uniform and make those civilians look up to me in awe.
I was actually meeting my mother at Atlanta airport and there were hundreds of poorly dressed troops walking around and she asked me if any of them had heard of a steam iron to iron their clothes! And she’s a 70 years old english lady!
"Those Soldiers your Mother saw at the Atlanta airport were either on the way to a combat zone or on the way back from a combat zone. "
But the majority of those troops looked unfit, old, fat and not really looking like troops. REMF or not front line troops. But still wore baggy, scruffy uniforms.

Most of the soldiers i saw looked like unprofessional amateur soldiers, sorry, but when compared to a lean european soldier the Us troops look unfit, fat and rather silly in baggy non pressed uniforms.

can someone please tell me an easy way to iron/steam clothes? I hate doing ironing. I dont need the crisp pressed look, but taking the wrinkles out will be fine. please recommend a good iron steamer/steamer etc;. i can do a one time investment and buy a good one.
can you also suggest a good steam iron that can do the job? i want something easy compared to a 50$ iron from walmart

my iron water keeps spilling?
The water in my iron keeps spilling and messing up my clothes. It does it less whenever I just keep pressing the steam button,but i can’t do it for to long cause it will spill again. Whats wrong with it? Should I get a new one and if so whats a really good brand. I have a Sunbeam one i got from walmart.
